Hair masks that you can try at home!

Whether it’s damage, dryness, flakes, frizz, or fading, we all run into hair issues. The change in seasons, indoor heat, outdoor elements, and hot hair tools are only some of the culprits that can cause these changes. Taking care of your hair on a daily basis will ensure that it will remain healthy and will definitely help with any hair loss issues you may be dealing with. Since we’ve been spending so much time at home, we made a list of at home treatments that you can try with everyday ingredients.

Honey, egg, and apple cider vinegar mask for dry hair. If your hair is feeling dry and parched at the ends, try this honey, egg and apple cider vinegar mask. It is a great hydrating treatment that provides shine and nourishment. Use 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Combine in a small bowl. Leave it on for 30 to 40 minutes before rinsing.

Coconut oil, sugar, and essential oil mask for flakes. If flakes start to appear on your scalp when it is cold outside, it may be because the heat in your home is higher and is drying out your skin. This exfoliating treatment helps remove and reduce flakes. Use 2 tablespoons of raw unrefined coconut oil, 4 teaspoons of raw sugar, 5 drops of peppermint oil, 2 drops of tea tree oil. In a small bowl, mix ingredients together. Apply the mixture directly to clean, damp hair in the shower. Gently massage for a few minutes and then clip your hair up and let it sit for the duration of your shower.

Cinnamon and coconut oil mask for hair that won’t grow. Try a cinnamon-based mask — the anti-microbial spice is known to stimulate blood circulation and promote hair growth and strength. You are going to need equal parts cinnamon and coconut oil. Blend ingredients together well. Apply the mask onto your roots and massage into your scalp. Let it sit for 30 to 45 minutes and rinse.

Green tea and apple cider vinegar rinse to soothe an irritated scalp. The antioxidants and nutrients in green tea make it a powerful ingredient that calms and rebalances an irritated scalp. Peppermint oil is the perfect complement; it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe and hydrate a dry scalp. Use 1 cup of green tea, 2 drops of peppermint oil, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Mix well, massage into scalp and let sit for at least five minutes before rinsing.

Avocado, egg, and olive oil mask for damaged hair. Your hair can get damaged from a variety of sources: the use of styling tools, the environment, hair dye and more. But it can be fixed! Packed full of omega-3 fatty acids, this hair treatment provides the ultimate strength and shine for your hair.  It’s full of antioxidants which help fight off free radicals, which is especially great for city dwellers. You are going to need half an avocado, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply to wet hair, starting at the bottom and working your way up. Wrap your hair into a bun and cover with a hot towel. Let it sit for about 20 minutes and wash off.
